Have you taken an MBSR course at New York Insight Meditation Center? Would you like to spend time in community with teachers to help you refine your skills of mindfulness? This MBSR Daylong is for you! Practicing with other MBSR alumni and those currently taking the course, you will have a day to focus on mindfulness, what it looks in your life now, and build some momentum to continue these practices for time to come.

Jon Aaron

Jon AaronJon Aaron has been a teacher at New York insight since 2006. His principal dharma teacher has been Matthew Flickstein of The Forest Way. He trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and is a certified teacher through the CFM. He has taught over 50 cycles of the seminal curriculum as well as numerous courses for alumni of the program. He completed the Integrated Study and Practice Program at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies and the Foundations in Buddhist Contemplative Care at the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care. He is the co-guiding teacher of the Makom Meditation Havurah program at the Jewish Community Center. He is a certified Somatic Experience Practitionertm and has most recently completed the teacher training in Mindfulness for Pain offered by Breathworks in England.

Emily Herzlin

Emily HerzlinEmily Herzlin is a Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher trained through the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness. She is a Mind-Body Therapist at Memorial Sloan Kettering, a teacher at the Interdependence Project, and founder and lead teacher at Mindful Astoria, a meditation community in her neighborhood in Queens. She teaches mindfulness and meditation courses around New York City, leads meditation sessions in workplaces and universities, and works with private students one-on-one. She is currently participating in the Institute for Jewish Spirituality's Jewish Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training program. She is also a published writer with a particular love for memoir and poetry. She received her MFA in Nonfiction from Columbia University's School of the Arts in 2012.
