But before our attention stabilizes\, practice can be overstimulating. \nThis talk will explore the process through which the mind comes to rest. In developing this steadiness\, equanimity (the capacity to fully permit the flow of both pleasure and pain) is a vital skill. \nWe will see how concentration and equanimity reinforce each other and support a deeper understanding of ourselves. And how this stability\, in turn\, makes space for the heart to respond with joy and compassion. \nThis evening program will include a 45 minute guided meditation\, a dharma talk on the above subject and time for community and discussion. Practitioners of all skill levels are welcome! \nRegistration:\n \nNote About Registration:\nThe registration fee includes teacher support. If you wish to give more in addition to the registration fee\, the total (registration fees and additional contributions) will be shared between NYI and the teacher(s). \nIf you have questions about your registration (cancellation policy\, membership discount\, email confirmation\, etc.)\, please read our FAQs. If your question is not addressed in the FAQs\, please email registration@nyimc.org. \nNew York Insight Meditation Center is offering a new structure for registration. Members receive 15% off of the Sustaining Rate via a code provided in the membership email confirmation. \nNYI is committed to ensuring that our programs are available to all\, regardless of ability to pay. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. No financial assistance application is needed when registering for a program. \nWe offer new sliding scale fees\, and ask that you choose the highest fee you are able to afford based on your financial means. The Sustaining rate represents the actual program operating cost. If you can afford this level or higher\, you assist our efforts to offer reduced rates and support ongoing financial assistance. If you are unable to pay the Base Fee\, you can set up a payment plan or let us know how much you are able to pay at this time by emailing registration@nyimc.org. \n  \nAbout Amit Primor View all posts by Amit Primor URL:https://www.nyimc.org/event/compulsive-thinking-concentration-equanimity/ LOCATION:New York Insight Meditation Center\, Please inquire at registration@nyimc.org\, New York\, NY\, United States CATEGORIES:Evening Events,For Beginners END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
