This daylong will review the obstacle of unconscious bias that prevents the creation of a beloved community. The workshop will be interactive and informative. It will cover the causes that create unconscious bias and the mindfulness-based strategies that reduce unconscious bias. We will be practicing mindfulness, reflecting and journaling, as well as interacting with one another.
The program is open to all practitioners, beginners to experienced.
Registration fee does not include teacher support.
Teacher support: Suggested starting donation for a daylong is $30, but whatever you offer is greatly appreciated and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. All donations go to support the teacher(s).

Angela Dews found the dharma in 1996, at Vallecitos Mountain Ranch in New Mexico and began serious practice at Deer Park In California with Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh. She is a graduate of the fourth Community Dharma Leaders Program at Spirit Rock and her primary teachers are Gina Sharpe and Gloria Taraniya Ambrosia. Angela leads the NYI Harlem POC & Allies Sitting Group and co-leads the monthly Buddha & Bill W. Sangha.
Anurag Gupta is the Co-Founder & CEO of Be More America. He educates and trains professionals to understand unconscious bias and apply evidence-based tools to reduce its impact on decision-making. Anurag has worked with numerous nonprofit, corporate, and faith-based organizations on issues of diversity, inclusion, and the role of unconscious bias. A certified mindfulness teacher, Anurag also has a JD from NYU Law and an MPhil from Cambridge.
