Do more than care: serve.\nDo more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind.\nDo more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work.\n—William Arthur Ward \nNew York Insight relies on volunteers to create a welcome and organized atmosphere for all our events. NYI is almost entirely volunteer-run and generosity is vital to the existence of our community. \nThe center needs you to help prepare the online space for our events and support participants and teachers. As an event volunteer\, you’ll learn more about New York Insight and become an active member of the community. \nThrough volunteering: \n-You enter a path of service where your service is your practice and your practice is service\n-Build a greater sense of Sangha\n-Serve your local Dharma community\n-Practice generosity\n-Deepen your practice by exploring relationships between you and others \nWhat to Expect: Event volunteers arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the event start time to review the logistics with the teacher(s). In the online Zoom platform\, they make announcements\, provide technical support to participants\, help facilitate questions and comments\, and provide other forms of support as needed\, such as organizing breakout rooms for small group discussion and sharing screen to display videos\, music\, or text. \nRequirements: \nA stable internet connection and comfort with Zoom or similar apps are a must.\nAll volunteers are required to attend or watch the tutorial prior to their first volunteer event. The minimum requirement for volunteering is two events per quarter. \nIn exchange for this service\, you will be able to attend events for which you volunteer for free. You will be accumulating credit points that will enable you to join other programs for free\, or at a discount. \nRSVP\n \nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. \nAbout Amit Primor View all posts by Amit Primor URL:https://www.nyimc.org/event/event-volunteer-training-4-12-22/ LOCATION:Online through Zoom\, NY CATEGORIES:Community Gatherings ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.nyimc.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/bell-compress.jpg END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
