Ehipassiko — Come and See for Yourself
How We Wake Up, Part 1
Oren J. Sofer
Fee by donation, no pre-registration required
July 31, 2015
07:00 pm - 09:00 pm
Joins us for Part 2 on Friday, August 7.
In this two-part series we’ll explore awareness and equanimity — two fundamental principles of the Buddha’s teachings essential for formal meditation practice and living a spiritual life. Equanimity encompasses a range of practices that allow us to "step back” and get perspective on things, while various tools of awareness invite us to meet experience more intimately. Working together, these two energies balance and support each other to lead us inwardly to awakening one step at a time. Each evening will include a period of meditation with instructions, a Dharma talk, and time for questions and discussion.
Fee by donation: Suggested starting donation is $15 but whatever you offer is greatly appreciated and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. For this event all donations are split evenly between the teacher(s) and NYI.
