This sitting group provides instruction in insight meditation and fosters mutual support and understanding among the growing community of people of color who find nourishment and inspiration in the practice.

Exploring the Eightfold Path, the topic of the evening will be Right Action.

No previous meditation experience is required.

Fee by donation: Suggested starting donation is $15 but whatever you offer is greatly appreciated and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. For this event all donations are split evenly between the teacher(s) and NYI.

Angela DewsAngela Dews found the dharma in 1996, at Vallecitos Mountain Ranch in New Mexico and began serious practice at Deer Park In California with Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh. She is a graduate of the fourth Community Dharma Leaders Program at Spirit Rock and her primary teachers are Gina Sharpe and Gloria Taraniya Ambrosia. Angela leads the NYI Harlem POC & Allies Sitting Group and co-leads the monthly Buddha & Bill W. Sangha.
