Threading the Heart Sutra

with Sally Boon Matthews

5 Fridays from September 6th to October 4th, 2019 | 2:00pm – 6:00pm

Threading the Heart Sutra is a group project designed as a contemplative aid to encourage and explore the idea of visual meditation. Using the Heart Sutra as the point of reference combined with the humble act of stitching, participants are invited as they sew to reflect on the individual words and sentences that form the sutra. Because of the nature of the project, sangha collectively supports each other in transmitting the positive energy of the Heart Sutra to community, the environment and beyond.

Open to all, no previous sewing skills necessary.

Paper will be pre-punctured and numbered so participants can stitch.

Tea will be available.

Drop-in and no registration required; Suggested donations of $10 to NYI are welcome
