Ehipassiko — Come and See for Yourself
Through the Flames: Evening Talk & Book Signing
Fee by donation; no pre-registration required
February 20, 2015
07:00 pm - 09:00 pm
In Through the Flames, Allan tells the terrifying story of being trapped in a plane when it crashed and exploded in flames. He was severely burned in the accident, and in the days and weeks following the crash the many doctors who examined Allan determined that he would not survive.
Join us for this evening talk and book signing with this local meditation teacher and author. In this inspiring account of his against-all-odds recovery, Lokos uses his experience as a window through which to examine the challenge of human suffering in general and addresses the question of how we can thrive in the midst of pain and uncertainty.
Allan's book, Through the Flames: Overcoming Disaster Through Compassion, Patience, and Determination, will be available for purchase via cash or check.
Fee by donation: Suggested starting donation is $15 but whatever you offer is greatly appreciated and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. For this event all donations are split evenly between the teacher(s) and NYI.
