SUMMARY:In-Person and Online: Insight 101 - Intro to Vipassana Meditation
DESCRIPTION:In-Person and Online: Insight 101 – Intro to Vipassana Meditation\n \nwith Lani Miller\n \nThursdays\, September 12th – October 24th\, 2024 | 6:30 – 8:30pm ET\n \nPlease Note: This course will not meet on October 3rd\, 2024\n \nIn-Person Location: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street\, 12th Floor\n \n\n \nThere are many types of meditation and many reasons why one might be drawn to it. Meditation can be a powerful way to reduce stress. It can also help us to understand and relate to challenging feelings in healthier ways. \nAlong with these possible benefits\, and perhaps most importantly\, meditation offers us the opportunity to learn to be fully present and open to whatever is happening in our own experience\, just as it is. Through this kind attention\, happiness and peace grow in our lives; we learn to be kinder and more accepting of ourselves and bring this awareness into our relationships and the world we share. \nIf you’ve been wanting to learn how to meditate or refresh and renew the meditation practice you already have\, we invite you to join this six-week meditation course to explore the practice of Insight (Vipassana) meditation in a warm\, supportive environment. \nWe will emphasize experiential practice\, including instructions for sitting and walking meditation\, and explore how we can bring this practice of presence into our everyday lives. \nClasses will include time for practice\, talks\, guidance from the teacher\, and plenty of time for sharing and Q&A. Each week suggestions and supports will be offered for exploring and sustaining your practice in between classes. \nIn-Person Registration:\nPlease register below. If you are able\, registering at the “Supporter” level enables others to attend at the “Subsidized” level. Thank you for your generosity! (Please note that the registration price includes a base level of teacher support\, and you will have the opportunity to donate more after the program.) \nIf you are registering via a mobile device such as a phone or tablet\, you can scroll right and left and up and down within the below form if it is partially obscured or cut off.\nCLICK HERE to open the registration form in a new browser window. \n \nOnline Registration:\nPlease register below. \n \nVolunteering \nAll of our programs rely on volunteers to support our teachers and staff with various tasks and responsibilities.
