DESCRIPTION:Online: There Is More to Death Than Dying\n \nwith Amy Selzer\, Jon Aaron\, & Nancy Glimm \n \nSunday\, March 5th\, 2023 | 10:00am – 4:00pm ET\n \n\n \nRecollecting Our Good Qualities Before We Die \nAs a final daylong in this series on living with the nature to die\, we will take the time to explore our best qualities.  This reflection is so important though many of us need the reminder to do it. \nWe will spend time identifying and discovering the causes and conditions that support our good qualities. The Buddha spoke of two superheroes that protect the world. These are Hiri\, conscience or postive shame\, and Ottappa\, concern for the results of our actions. Looking at these two qualities\, we will observe our personal sense of integrity\, and our understanding of what is wholesome and unwholesome. \nWe will look at other supports as well such as the refuges\, precepts\, fierce friendships and more. The day will include a writing exercise\, movement\, meditation both sitting and walking\, break-out rooms\, dharma talks and sharing. \nAll levels of practice are welcome. DESCRIPTION:Online: Relaxing Into Awareness – A Daylong Meditation Retreat\n \nwith Lani Miller\n \nSunday\, March 19th\, 2023 | 10:00am – 4:30pm ET\n \n\n \nThis day will be an ideal opportunity for meditators who wish to explore participating in a retreat for the first time.  \nMore experienced meditators are also warmly welcomed to attend and receive the benefits of taking the time to attend a retreat. \nIn this supportive environment\, we will have the opportunity to experience the benefits of spending extended time in meditation practice by tuning into our own direct moment to moment experience. As an important part of this we will explore the balance between relaxing into our practice while still bringing a kind and dedicated effort to it. \nThere will be time for silent practice and also opportunities for connection. \nThe schedule will be focused on experiential practice. It will include meditation instructions for periods of sitting and walking meditation as well as Lovingkindness (Metta) meditation and a talk from the teacher. \nDuring the retreat\, there will be break for lunch. DESCRIPTION:Online: Embracing Change\, Loss\, and Grief\n \nwith Kimberly Brown\n \nSaturday\, March 25th\, 2023 | 10:00am – 1:00pm ET\n \n\n \nIf you’ve encountered a significant change— the death of someone you love\, divorce or separation\, loss of livelihood — you might feel devastated\, angry\, or just lost. Join Kimberly Brown\, meditation teacher and author of Navigating Grief and Loss: 25 Buddhist Practices to Keep Your Heart Open to Yourself and Others\, for this experiential workshop and learn practices and teachings to meet your grief and difficult emotions with patience\, tenderness\, and clarity. \nThis half-day program is designed to give you the space and time necessary to bring comfort to yourself. Kimberly will guide mindfulness exercises and lead traditional Buddhist compassion practices to develop your resilience through difficulty. You’ll learn to engage with and befriend your sadness\, pain\, and mourning\, and discover the true openness and peace available within us all\, no matter what the circumstances. \nThis program is appropriate for and open to anyone who is experiencing change and grief. No experience with meditation or Buddhism is necessary and all are welcome.
