SUMMARY:In-Person and Online: The Body Remembers Freedom - Meditation\, InterPlay\, and the Art of Coming Home to Yourself
DESCRIPTION:In-Person and Online: The Body Remembers Freedom – Meditation\, InterPlay\, and the Art of Coming Home to Yourself \nwith Kaira Jewel Lingo and My Tong\n \nThursday\, December 4th\, 2025 | 6:30pm – 8:30pm ET \nIn-Person Location: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street\, 12th Floor \n \nOffered monthly on 1st or 2nd Thursdays\, 6:30 – 8:30pm ET — see full list of dates below. This series is offered in a hybrid format for the Dharma teaching and the meditation. During the InterPlay portion of the evening\, My Tong will guide those on Zoom while Kaira Jewel guides those in person. Afterward\, both groups will come back together again for the closing practice. \nWhat if freedom wasn’t something to earn — but something your body already remembers? What if your body already carried the wisdom you need to heal\, connect\, and come home to yourself? What if play could be a blessing? \nThe Body Remembers Freedom is a monthly gathering where we explore the intersection of meditation\, dharma\, and embodied practice. Each session includes time for stillness and contemplation\, a dharma talk or shared inquiry\, and InterPlay — a playful\, powerful practice using movement\, voice\, storytelling\, and deep listening to unlock the wisdom of the body. \nTogether we create a space that welcomes laughter\, tears\, rest\, and joy — a space where you can move freely\, feel deeply\, and be held in community. Through this practice\, we remember what it feels like to trust ourselves\, to breathe fully\, and to belong. \nParticipants are supported to be: \n\nMore grounded and connected to their bodies and each other\nReconnected to joy\, creativity\, and inner resource\nBetter able to meet life — and themselves — with compassion and presence\n\nWe gather to remember the sacred in the ordinary\, to bless our own aliveness\, and to reconnect with community\, the earth\, and the truth in our bones. \nCome as you are. No performance\, experience\, or flexibility required — just a willingness to be curious and present. \nWe suggest you wear comfortable clothing that you can move in freely. \nSave the dates for additional Thursday sessions in this series! These upcoming sessions will open for registration soon:\n2026: January 15 | February 12 | March 12 | April 9 | May 7 | June 18 | July 9 | August 13 \nIn-Person Registration:\nPlease register below. SUMMARY:Online: Making Peace and Reconciling the Heart
DESCRIPTION:Online: Making Peace and Reconciling the Heart \nwith Bob Stahl\, PhD \nThursday\, December 4th\, 2025 | 7:00pm – 9:00pm ET \n \nAs our meditation practice matures\, we may recognize the importance of relinquishing opinions\, grudges\, judgments\, and resentments through honest reconciliation. This is the path of the heart that leads to deeper wisdom and peace. \nOver the course of this special online evening event\, we’ll learn 4 important practices of reconciliation: \n\nReconciliation for the times we’ve been hard on ourselves\nReconciliation to those we’ve hurt\nReconciliation to those who’ve hurt us\nReconciliation with the way things are\n\nWith reconciliation\, we learn to come to terms with life in a deeper and wiser way. The heart may naturally begin to open into loving kindness for ourselves\, to others\, and the world we live in. May this be a time to heal our hearts and make peace. \nOnline Registration:\nPlease register below. If you are able\, registering at the “Supporter” level enables others to attend at the “Subsidized” level. Thank you for your generosity! (Please note that the registration price includes a base level of teacher support\, and you will have the opportunity to donate more after the program.) \nIf you are registering via a mobile device such as a phone or tablet\, you can scroll right and left and up and down within the below form if it is partially obscured or cut off.\nCLICK HERE to open the registration form in a new browser window. \nBring a Buddy: If you are a member of our Circle of Friends\, you’re invited to bring a Dharma buddy to this program for no additional cost. SUMMARY:Online: Liberation Through Deep Rest
DESCRIPTION:Online: Liberation Through Deep Rest \nwith Cara Lai \nThursday\, December 18th\, 2025 | 6:30pm – 8:30pm ET \n \nThe Buddha taught that freedom from suffering comes from letting go\, and that awakening is possible for everyone. \nAnd yet\, in a busy world oriented towards productivity and achievement\, it’s easy to adopt the idea that we have to strain to find peace\, and to doubt that it is really possible for us. If real peace comes from letting go and not from contracting\, how do we make the radical shift from doing to receiving? \nThis online retreat will explore the many ways to rest\, to release the grip we have on life\, and to allow this life and this path to come to us. With instructions that support radical non-doing; through teachings on not-self\, compassion\, and faith; we will learn how to truly rest\, even in the midst of a busy life\, or with a mind/body habituated towards busyness. \nWe’ll also learn when and how to use the rest we find to move back towards action from a place of safety and love\, rather than from fear.
