SUMMARY:In-Person: Qigong for Emotional Alchemy - A Half-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:In-Person: Qigong for Emotional Alchemy – A Half-Day Workshop \nwith Chia-Ti Chiu \nSaturday\, August 8th\, 2026 | 10:00am – 1:00pm ET \nLocation: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street\, 12th Floor \n \nQigong is a gentle movement practice that has been practiced for millenia. It’s been shown to reduce stress and improve energy\, but people have also reported that it can help them with processing emotions as well. \nQigong helps us not only become more aware of how we feel\, but gives us the ability to move through our emotions with more flow. Qigong as an embodied practice allows the body to “speak” when the mind wants to shut down or react. \nAccording to Traditional Chinese Medicine\, our emotions affect the organs\, immune system\, and the autonomic functions of the body. Our health suffers or flourishes depending on how we digest our emotional experience of life. During this half-day workshop\, we’ll explore how qigong supports us to process\, integrate\, and release held emotions and accumulated tension. \nIn addition to qigong\, we’ll practice meditation\, active listening\, and journaling to further understand how to alchemize our emotional distress into more ease. \nIn-Person Registration:\nPlease register below. If you are able\, registering at the “Supporter” level enables others to attend at the “Subsidized” level. Thank you for your generosity! (Please note that the registration price includes a base level of teacher support\, and you will have the opportunity to donate more after the program.) \nIf you are registering via a mobile device such as a phone or tablet\, you can scroll right and left and up and down within the below form if it is partially obscured or cut off.\nCLICK HERE to open the registration form in a new browser window. \nBring a Buddy: If you are a member of our Circle of Friends\, you’re invited to bring a Dharma buddy to this program for no additional cost. Simply select “1” from the drop-down next to the Bring a Buddy level\, and enter your special discount code (provided in your Circle of Friends welcome email) to reduce the price to that of a single\, standard registration. This registration will grant attendance for you and your buddy. \n \nVolunteering \nAll of our programs rely on volunteers to support our teachers and staff with various tasks and responsibilities. Volunteering allows you to participate in our programs at no cost. To inquire about volunteering opportunities\, please fill out our inquiry form\, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

SUMMARY:In-Person: Learning to Be With What Is - A Half-day Yoga Retreat
DESCRIPTION:In-Person: Learning to Be With What Is – A Half-day Yoga Retreat \nwith Oneika Mays \nSaturday\, August 15th\, 2026 | 10:00am – 1:00pm ET \nLocation: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street\, 12th Floor \n \nThese are hard times. And many of us are discovering something: caring deeply is exhausting. It’s hard to stay present without being swept away. Hard to keep your heart open without losing your footing. \nThis half-day retreat is an invitation to find steady ground; by learning to be with what is without being undone by it. Through gentle asana\, therapeutic yoga\, and yoga nidra\, we’ll explore upekkha (equanimity) as something alive in the body. \nEquanimity is not indifference. It is not checking out. It is the capacity to stay present with everything — joy\, grief\, chaos\, uncertainty — without being tossed around by any of it. \nYou’ll leave with a clear understanding of the difference between equanimity and indifference\, a body-based practice you can return to when things feel overwhelming\, and the direct experience of steadiness. \nEveryone is welcome.
