SUMMARY:In-Person and Online: The Body Remembers Freedom - Meditation\, InterPlay\, and the Art of Coming Home to Yourself
DESCRIPTION:In-Person and Online: The Body Remembers Freedom – Meditation\, InterPlay\, and the Art of Coming Home to Yourself \nwith Kaira Jewel Lingo and My Tong\n \nThursday\, December 4th\, 2025 | 6:30pm – 8:30pm ET \nIn-Person Location: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street\, 12th Floor \n \nOffered monthly on 1st or 2nd Thursdays\, 6:30 – 8:30pm ET — see full list of dates below. During the InterPlay portion of the evening\, My Tong will guide those on Zoom while Kaira Jewel guides those in person. What if your body already carried the wisdom you need to heal\, connect\, and come home to yourself? What if play could be a blessing? \nThe Body Remembers Freedom is a monthly gathering where we explore the intersection of meditation\, dharma\, and embodied practice. Each session includes time for stillness and contemplation\, a dharma talk or shared inquiry\, and InterPlay — a playful\, powerful practice using movement\, voice\, storytelling\, and deep listening to unlock the wisdom of the body. \nTogether we create a space that welcomes laughter\, tears\, rest\, and joy — a space where you can move freely\, feel deeply\, and be held in community. Through this practice\, we remember what it feels like to trust ourselves\, to breathe fully\, and to belong. \nParticipants are supported to be: \n\nMore grounded and connected to their bodies and each other\nReconnected to joy\, creativity\, and inner resource\nBetter able to meet life — and themselves — with compassion and presence\n\nWe gather to remember the sacred in the ordinary\, to bless our own aliveness\, and to reconnect with community\, the earth\, and the truth in our bones. \nCome as you are. No performance\, experience\, or flexibility required — just a willingness to be curious and present. \nWe suggest you wear comfortable clothing that you can move in freely. \nSave the dates for additional Thursday sessions in this series! SUMMARY:In-Person and Online: Embodied Equanimity in an Unruly World
DESCRIPTION:In-Person and Online: Embodied Equanimity in an Unruly World \nwith Rebecca Bradshaw \nSaturday\, December 13th\, 2025 | 10:00am – 1:00pm ET \nIn-Person Location: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street\, 12th Floor \n \nEquanimity is often described as mental balance and even-mindedness in the face of the ups and downs of life. It is our true hope for peace in this world of wild change. But how is true equanimity possible given the enormous amount of suffering we experience both individually and collectively? How do we navigate toward an equanimous heart-mind as wide and spacious as the entire world? \nJoin Rebecca Bradshaw\, Guiding Teacher Emeritus of the Insight Meditation Society\, for a half-day retreat exploring how mental suffering can shift to an expansive and compassionate presencing. By building the capacity to hold our own pain\, we begin to be able to hold the world’s pain and unruliness as well. \nJoin us to explore the journey towards equanimity in our own practice. We will practice with embodied equanimity\, knowing this quality of freedom not only through our mind\, but also through our heart and abdomen\, all the way down to our contact with the steady Earth. \nIn-Person Registration:\nPlease register below. If you are able\, registering at the “Supporter” level enables others to attend at the “Subsidized” level. Thank you for your generosity! SUMMARY:In-Person and Online: Rubin Museum Mindfulness Meditation - A Special Panel Event
DESCRIPTION:In-Person and Online: Rubin Museum Mindfulness Meditation – A Special Panel Event \nwith Lama Aria Drolma\, Rebecca Li\, and Tracy Cochran \nThursday\, December 18th\, 2025 | 1:00pm – 1:45pm ET \nIn-Person Location: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street\, 12th Floor \n  \nYou are warmly invited to join the final in person session of Mindfulness Meditation at New York Insight. Going forward\, this meditation session hosted and curated by the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art will continue to be available as a podcast with new sessions airing weekly. \nThis session will feature three of our longstanding Mindfulness Meditation teachers\, Lama Aria Drolma\, Rebecca Li\, and Tracy Cochran\, in conversation. At the conclusion of the discussion\, each teacher will share a brief meditation practice from their own respective tradition with a focus on this month’s theme of Wisdom. \nFor centuries Himalayan practitioners have used meditation to quiet the mind\, open the heart\, calm the nervous system\, and increase focus. Mindfulness Meditation is a refuge from the world around us\, as well as an opportunity to engage with it more consciously. \nInspired by works of art from the Rubin’s collection and guided by expert teachers\, each session is framed around a monthly theme. The sessions are open to beginners and skilled meditators alike and include an opening talk\, a 20-minute meditation session\, and a closing discussion. \nLooking for more Mindfulness Meditation? Listen to the Mindfulness Meditation podcast on Apple Podcasts\, Spotify\, or wherever you listen to podcasts. \nRegistration:\nPlease register below at the level that works best for you. Each ticket is good for one in-person OR online entry. You will receive the Zoom link in your confirmation email in case you wish to join the online version of the program. \nIf you are registering via a mobile device such as a phone or tablet\, you can scroll right and left and up and down within the below form if it is partially obscured or cut off.\nCLICK HERE to open the registration form in a new browser window.

SUMMARY:Online: Liberation Through Deep Rest
DESCRIPTION:Online: Liberation Through Deep Rest \nwith Cara Lai \nThursday\, December 18th\, 2025 | 6:30pm – 8:30pm ET \n \nThe Buddha taught that freedom from suffering comes from letting go\, and that awakening is possible for everyone. \nAnd yet\, in a busy world oriented towards productivity and achievement\, it’s easy to adopt the idea that we have to strain to find peace\, and to doubt that it is really possible for us. If real peace comes from letting go and not from contracting\, how do we make the radical shift from doing to receiving? \nThis online retreat will explore the many ways to rest\, to release the grip we have on life\, and to allow this life and this path to come to us. With instructions that support radical non-doing; through teachings on not-self\, compassion\, and faith; we will learn how to truly rest\, even in the midst of a busy life\, or with a mind/body habituated towards busyness. \nWe’ll also learn when and how to use the rest we find to move back towards action from a place of safety and love\, rather than from fear. \nOnline Registration:\nPlease register below. If you are able\, registering at the “Supporter” level enables others to attend at the “Subsidized” level. Thank you for your generosity! (Please note that the registration price includes a base level of teacher support\, and you will have the opportunity to donate more after the program.) \nIf you are registering via a mobile device such as a phone or tablet\, you can scroll right and left and up and down within the below form if it is partially obscured or cut off.\nCLICK HERE to open the registration form in a new browser window. \nBring a Buddy: If you are a member of our Circle of Friends\, you’re invited to bring a Dharma buddy to this program for no additional cost. Simply select “1” from the drop-down next to the Bring a Buddy level\, and enter your special discount code (provided in your Circle of Friends welcome email) to reduce the price to that of a single\, standard registration.
