DESCRIPTION:In-Person: Forest Bathing – Awakening the Senses | Sacred Earth Sangha\n \nwith Joanie Roney and Veronika Knobová\n \nSunday\, June 25th\, 2023 | 12:00pm* to 3:00pm\n\nLocation: Tuscan Garden in Snug Harbor\, Staten Island\nRegistration is now closed\n \n\n  \nForest therapy\, also known as forest bathing\, is a nature therapy based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku. It is an accessible method for reconnecting with nature\, your body\, senses\, feelings\, and emotions in ways that have been shown to improve your mental health and wellness. \nShinrin-Yoku forest therapy can help you to: \n– Softly reduce stress and relieve anxiety\n– Induce a gentle calm and clarity\n– Increase creativity\n– Refocus aspirations and refresh yourself \nThis in-person\, guided walk with Joanie Roney will lead you through a series of meditative\, mindful invitations\, where you will start noticing through your senses the subtle beauty around and within you. The guided walk will be 12 PM to approx. 2 PM\, with time afterward to share and connect.  \nPlease plan your journey to arrive at Tuscan Garden in Snug Harbor\, Staten Island\, by 12 PM.\n*Participants are invited to meet at 10:15 am at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in lower Manhattan to travel to Snug Harbor together via MTA bus (or bike!).  \nNOTE: Most SES gatherings are dāna-based. We’ll meditate together and share an open discussion of what it means to take Refuge this Pride season alongside daily assaults on our political rights and identities.
