DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by New York Insight Sacred Earth Sangha\nIn-Person: Awake in Urban Nature – Meditation on Governors Island \nwith Maho Kawachi \nSaturday\, May 31st\, 2025 | 9:30am to 12:30pm \nLocation: Governors Island\, Manhattan\, NY \n \nJoin us for a joyful morning of practice\, exploration\, connecting\, and sharing on the splendid grounds of Governors Island. \nMinutes from Manhattan via ferry\, Governors Island is one of New York’s greatest natural treasures—a sprawling green campus\, crisscrossed with trails\, offering stunning views of the FiDi skyline and upper harbor. It is home to many environmental restoration projects such as the Teaching Farm\, Bee Sanctuary\, Compost Learning Center\, Billion Oyster Project\, and more\, inviting opportunities to explore and contemplate our relationship as urban dwellers to the natural world. \nWe will practice guided walking\, standing\, sitting meditation\, and gentle movement. Light rain or shine. Bring your curiosity and open heart. \nPlease note: Meetup location will be Governors Island Ferry ticket office near Battery Park\, Manhattan.
