Awakening Together: The Power of Generous Presence

with Bart van Melik

Sunday, February 24th, 2019 | 10:00am – 5:00pm

This daylong retreat will be an introduction to Insight Dialogue, a fully engaged relational meditation practice.

Insight Dialogue brings together meditative awareness, the wisdom teachings of the Buddha, and the power of relationship to support insight into the nature, source, and release of human suffering.

We will explore how we can be fully present for ourselves and others and look at what supports and what challenges us to be fully awake and present with others.

In this retreat we will introduce the six meditative guidelines of Insight Dialogue: Pause, Relax, Open, Attune to Emergence, Listen Deeply, and Speak the Truth. The retreat will be held in silence as we explore the power of embodied listening and speaking. All are welcome!

The registration fee includes teacher support. If you wish to give more in addition to the registration fee, the total (registration fees and additional contributions) will be shared between NYI and the teacher(s).

New York Insight Meditation Center is offering a new structure for registration. Members receive 15% off of the Sustaining Rate.

NYI is committed to ensuring that our programs are available to all, regardless of ability to pay. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. No financial assistance application is needed when registering for a program.

We offer new sliding scale fees, and ask that you choose the highest fee you are able to afford based on your financial means. The Sustaining rate represents the actual program operating cost. If you can afford this level or higher, you assist our efforts to offer reduced rates and support ongoing financial assistance.
