"I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy."

Become a volunteer!
Offering service to New York Insight provides an invaluable way of strengthening your practice. More than simply pitching in to help facilitate the management of the center, volunteering provides the rare opportunity to transform generosity into Wise Action, which the Buddha identified as a critical component of the Eight Fold Path. Serving the community serves the awakening of all of us.
NYI is an almost entirely volunteer-run organization. To help deliver these programs, we have always relied heavily on a small but committed group of people. In return, theses dedicated individuals have the satisfaction of know NYI couldn’t exist without them.
Reasons to Volunteer at NYI
- to practice generosity
- to be more connected to the Sangha and the Dharma
- to meet new teachers
- to support your sangha
