This community meets on Sunday evenings to meditate, discuss Buddhist teachings, and provide mutual support in applying these practices to the specific challenges of early adulthood. The gathering is participatory and casual. Possible discussion topics include career, relationships, money, and dealing with difficulties.

There is no required level of experience or familiarity with meditation or Buddhism. Meditation instruction is given.

Fee by donation: Suggested starting donation is $10 but whatever you offer is greatly appreciated and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. For this event, all donations go to support NYI.
Brian Simmons is a former award winning Writer/Producer for Comedy Central, and currently a High School English teacher in NYC, where he has introduced Mindfulness to the Department of Education. He has been practicing intensive daily Mindfulness since 1999 and completed teacher training at the Center for Mindfulness at UMASS Medical Center. In 2014, Brian was interviewed by ABC News with Diane Sawyer for a profile on Mindfulness. Currently, Brian is enrolled in the Spirit Rock Community Dharma Leaders Program.
