Online: Steadying Our Center – Heartful Breathwork for These Times
with Dalila Bothwell
Sunday, October 26th, 2025 | 5:30pm – 7:30pm ET
Online via Zoom
In times of uncertainty and change, our breath can be a reliable and helpful anchor. In this nourishing online session we will practice the wisdom of conscious breathing and heart-centered awareness.
Breathwork is the practice of using intentional breathing patterns and techniques to cultivate deeper states of awareness, healing, and presence. Unlike simply observing the natural breath in traditional meditation, breathwork involves actively engaging with the breath as a transformative tool – using rhythm, depth, and conscious direction to possibly access emotional release, somatic healing, and expanded states of consciousness.
Rather than working with breath as a mental object alone, we’ll explore how the breath moves through our entire being – softening the heart space, releasing tension, and creating a felt sense of groundedness through the body. This embodied approach helps us stay present not just with our thoughts, but with the full spectrum of our human experience.
Join us in cultivating the steady heart that can meet whatever arises with wisdom and compassion.

Our time together will include brief dharma reflections, guided meditation, breathwork, journaling and gentle movement. No prior breathwork experience is necessary – just bring your openness and your meditation cushion.

Dalila Bothwell’s (she/her) Dharma-meditation practice lives at the intersection of love for community, land, wholeness, and 12-step recovery. The granddaughter of Claudia and Gussie Pearl, she finds refuge and hope in the liberation teachings of revolutionary lovers – from the Buddha to bell hooks. During her nearly decade-long tenure as a director for New York Insight Meditation Center, she learned the priceless value of sangha and the role relationships play in embodying the teachings and in creating kinder human beings.
