In-Person: Lunar New Year Sit for the AAPI Community

with Lin Wang Gordon

Saturday, January 28th, 2023 | 11:30am – 2:00pm

Come join the joyous occasion of the Lunar New Year for the AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islanders) community.

Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is commonly celebrated throughout different parts of Asia, typically lasting 15 days. 2023 is the year of the Water Rabbit, starting on January 22nd.   If you self-identify as AAPI and celebrate the lunar new year, join us for a sit to set intentions for 2023 and share your family traditions.

We would like to use this occasion to honor ancestry and heritage and explore what this holiday means to each of us.

We will have a sit and group sharing from 11:30 am-1 pm and a vegetarian potluck from 1-2 pm.
Please bring a dish that you would like to share.

Teacher(s)

Lin Wang Gordon

Lin has dedicated over a decade to studying insight meditation under the guidance of Jonathan Foust, Mark Coleman, and Sebene Selassie. Since 2020, she has also been learning about the Dzogchen tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Lin was particularly moved by the power of nature meditation to connect with a deep sense of well-being, love, wonder, resilience, and interconnection with all beings.

Graduating from Mark Coleman’s Awake in the Wild Nature Meditation Teacher Training in 2017, Lin was motivated to share nature meditation and ecodharma as pathways for personal transformation and environmental activism. Since 2018, she has been learning to lead ecodharma retreats under David Loy and Johann Robbins. She has taught at the New York Insight Meditation Center and around the country. She is enrolled in the Spirit Rock Community Dharma Leaders Program (CDL7). linwanggordon.com
