In-Person and Online: Imprints & Triggers – How Karma Works
with David Nichtern
Tuesdays, April 14th and 21st, 2026 | 6:30pm – 8:30pm ET
In-Person Location: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street, 12th Floor
Have you ever noticed how, in the moment, somebody can say or do something that seems to dramatically shift your state of mind, causing you to experience a sudden surge in irritation, grasping or zoning out?
These workshops trace karma as the subtle residue of thoughts, words, and actions: imprints that settle in the mind, and the triggers that awaken them, pulling us into automatic responses without our conscious awareness.
Based on the highly nuanced Buddhist teachings of Abhidharma, through mindfulness and awareness techniques, we will track this process – developing the capacity to see, in real time, how karmic patterns are created, and how they pull us into unnecessary suffering within our own mind and in relation to our interactions with others.
Join teacher David Nichtern for this special two-part series! Workshops will include meditation instruction and practice, lectures, discussion and breakout groups. All levels welcome.
Note: This program will be recorded, and the recordings will be sent to all registrants after each session.
