Become a New York Insight Event Volunteer!

Friday, January 29th, 2021 | 6:00pm – 7:30pm

Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: serve.
Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind.
Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work.
—William Arthur Ward

New York Insight relies on volunteers to create a welcome and organized atmosphere for all our events. NYI is almost entirely volunteer-run and generosity is vital to the existence of our community.

The center needs you to help prepare the online space for our events and support participants and teachers. As an event volunteer, you’ll learn more about New York Insight and become an active member of the community.

Through volunteering:

-You enter a path of service where your service is your practice and your practice is service
-Build a greater sense of Sangha
-Serve your local Dharma community
-Practice generosity
-Deepen your practice by exploring relationships between you and others

What to Expect: Event volunteers arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the event start time to review the logistics with the teacher(s). In the online Zoom platform, they make announcements, provide technical support to participants, help facilitate questions and comments, and provide other forms of support as needed, such as organizing breakout rooms for small group discussion and sharing screen to display videos, music, or text.

Requirements:

Stable internet connection and comfort with Zoom or similar apps is a must.
All volunteers are required to attend or watch the tutorial prior to their first volunteer event. The minimum requirement for volunteering is two events per quarter.

In exchange for this service, you will be able to attend events for which you volunteer for free.
