“If you truly get in touch with a piece of carrot, you get in touch with the soil, the rain, the sunshine. You get in touch with Mother Earth and eating in such a way, you feel in touch with true life, your roots, and that is meditation.” – Thich Nhat Hahn

“Visitors to Wave Hill first see a beautiful garden, then, layer by layer, begin to understand the complexity.” — Ken Druse, garden writer and photographer

Join us for a contemplative day of meditation and reflection at the lush grounds of Wave Hill Garden in the Bronx. Immerse in the outdoors and allow us to be astonished and renewed by the healing power of nature. Spend the day reconnecting to nature and ourselves through nature meditation practices, and embracing silence as a key element for introspection and transformation. By cultivating our presence, insights naturally arise. This daylong retreat is a chance to unwind and restore. It’s also an opportunity to understand our relationship to nature in both its simplicity and complexity.

We will have group discussions and sharing in addition to meditation. We will spend much of the day in silence and have opportunities for social connection and mindful dialogues.

An urban oasis, Wave Hill’s 28 acres sit high above the Hudson River with sweeping views and lots of open sky an enchanting surprise for all the senses. We will explore many gardens within the garden, including the Flower Garden, Herb and Dry Garden, Aquatic & Monocot Garden, Marco Polo Stufano Conservatory, Wild Garden, the T. H. Everett Alpine House and more.

Lunch: You can bring your own lunch or order from the cafe onsite.

Admission to Wave Hill Garden: $10 for adults, $6 for seniors.  Please note that the admission ticket is not included in the registration fee.
