Online: Calm and Steadiness, Insight and Wisdom

with Narayan Helen Liebenson

Saturday, March 19th, 2022 | 10:00am – 5:30pm ET

The Buddha taught the basic practice of Shamata Vipassana or Calm and Wisdom. We shouldn’t mistake “basic” to mean simply applicable for beginners, however. The understanding of how to cultivate calm and steadiness as well as insight and wisdom is an ongoing arena of exploration and discovery for both new and experienced practitioners.

In the morning session, we will focus on wise ways to approach methods of calmness and steadiness. The afternoon session will emphasize insight and wisdom. We will discuss how methods of calm and steadiness are a springboard for wisdom and how insight and wisdom brings about greater calm, all in the service of inner liberation of heart.

At the end of this daylong of teachings and practice, join Narayan for an intimate period of conversation and discussion.
