Canceled: End of Summer Sangha Sunday – Community Gathering in Central Park

Sunday, September 24th, 2023 | 3:45pm – 6:00pm ET

Location: Meet at 3:45pm, Central Park’s Cherry Hill, on the lawn overlooking The Lake at the south end of Bow Bridge

This event has been canceled due to inclement weather. We hope to see you at another community gathering soon!

Connect with your NYIMC community as we transition from Summer to Fall! We will meditate, meet, and then celebrate with an optional BYO Picnic.

Location Details: Cherry Hill is a 6-minute walk from the East 72nd, West 69th, and West 72nd Street entrances to the park, which can be reached by subway, bus or Citibike. You can view the exact location via this Google Maps pin: https://goo.gl/maps/MVi9F16vvDJBe6cZ6

This gathering is the final of four outdoor, community events to celebrate the diversity of NYIMC’s sangha throughout New York City this Summer. Join us to meditate outside and meet your NYIMC communities from across the boroughs.

New York Insight Teacher and Sacred Earth Sangha Leader Jon Aaron, Weekly Community Meditation Gathering, and the Friends Leadership Council will offer an afternoon engaging in community connection and simply spending time in our city’s beautiful Central Park.

All are welcome to join this event, including friends and family, whether you’re a longtime community member and practitioner, or brand new to meditation and New York Insight. The event and activities have also been designed to be accessible and welcoming to all. We encourage you to bring a blanket, chair, pillow, towel or whatever you may need to support your practice in an outdoor setting.

Beginning at 4:00 PM, teacher Jon Aaron will provide an opportunity for a brief meditation in nature. Collaborating with Jon, our Friends Leadership Council will then offer interactive activities to engage with new and old sangha friends.

When the event ends at 6:00 PM, join our optional, BYO Picnic– bring your own meal, something refreshing to drink or share.

“Breathing in, I see that I am part of a sangha, and I am being protected by my sangha. Breathing out, I feel joy.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
