As relational beings we talk; often a lot and out of habit, both to others and to ourselves. How compassionate and open are you while speaking and listening? Especially in these times of a global pandemic, political division and growing social and economic inequity?

The Buddha’s instructions on wise speech are practical and universal: Can you refrain from saying something that is not beneficial? Only speaking what is true and beneficial? And knowing when to speak – even when it is unendearing and disagreeable to others?

As a community, we’ll investigate these timeless instructions with the support of Insight Dialogue, an interpersonal meditation practice that brings together mindfulness and concentration, the wisdom teachings of the Buddha and the power of relationship to support insight into the causes and release of human suffering.

We’ll gather weekly in the month of October and conclude our course with a daylong retreat of Insight Dialogue on November 1. Everyone is welcome to experience freedom and connection in speech.
