The promise of meditation is to reduce or eliminate sorrow, pain and distress and to realize freedom from suffering. Accomplishing this goal becomes more complex with unresolved trauma.

This introductory talk on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness -The Satipatthana Sutta- will summarize the meditation tools and teachings it contains, ways to use them to minimize trauma activation and as a support for trauma resolution.

When trauma is released, meditation is then better positioned to fulfill its promise.
