In-Person and Online: Love Like a Buddha

with Kimberly Brown

Thursday, March 7th, 2024 | 6:30pm – 8:30pm ET

In-Person Location: Balance Arts Center at 151 W 30th St 3rd floor

Most of us are taught only to love and care for our family and friends, but not to necessarily love or even pay attention to ourselves, strangers, difficult people, and so many other living creatures.

But inequities, abuse, and exploitation can result from loving unequally and selectively, picking and choosing who deserves it and who doesn’t. That’s why the Buddha encouraged us to love indiscriminately and boundlessly—because he understood that love is a powerful force for good.

Join us for a night of community where we’ll learn how love can support personal fulfillment, contribute to a positive and equitable society, and create strong and lasting social bonds. We’ll discover how to recognize our inherent lovingness and to develop it with traditional practices of lovingkindness and insight meditation.

Join author and teacher Kimberly Brown for this special evening of discussion, Q&A, and guided meditation. No experience is necessary. Beginners and experienced meditators are welcome.
