Online: The Wisdom of Prajnaparamita – A Half-Day Retreat Exploring The Essence of the Heart Sutra

with Scott Tusa

Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 | 1:00pm – 5:00pm ET

In this half-day online retreat we will explore the wisdom teachings of the bodhisattva Prajnaparamita as found in the Heart Sutra.

The Heart Sutra is one of the most frequently used and recited texts in the Buddhist tradition and is often symbolically represented as the mother Prajnaparamita, as all awakened beings are born from within the space of her empty-luminosity.

Through periods of meditation and discussion, we will establish the ground for greater insight into ourselves and our relationships with others. In addition we will explore the Buddha’s teachings as found in the Heart Sutra, and how they can bring deep purpose and meaning to our modern lives.

In this half day retreat, you will have the opportunity to:
• Learn more about the Buddhist philosophical and meditative practices on interdependence and emptiness
• Explore why these foundational Buddhist teachings matter and how they can bring deep purpose and meaning to our modern lives
• Engage new and traditional ways of reflecting on and navigating our personal and collective realities
• Open to a more embodied and joyful approach to working with your emotions and personal relationships
